Software: ACID 4.0 & Soundforge 5.0 (Free - downloadable)
Microphone: Shure SM58 (100 bucks)
Headphones: Sennheiser HD 515 (100 bucks)
Soundcard: M-Audio Fast Track Pro (200 bucks)
Speakers: Event Project Studio 8 (2,000 bucks)
Mic Stand: AKG KM210/9-BLACK Microphone Stand/Boom combination (70 bucks)
Pop Filter: RaXXess Stoppit Pop Filter with Goose Neck (6 in.) (10 bucks)

That's my setup… Definitely not within the 200 dollar range… But if you're just starting out, I would suggest buying a decent mic, decent headphones, and a good soundcard. Those are crucial for making decent tracks on your PC.

What im thinking of buying is the foam to put up my walls fo 50, a 30 dollar mic mate (idk the make, just knows that it can convert any condener mic into a usb), and of course a decent mic. But i cant really find one for 120, any ideas? (Also, i have the mic stand so dont mention it lol)

I been lookin around askin around etc. about this stuff too.  It would be really hard to find everything you need for under 200 without cutting down on quality big time i think, at least based on what I've seen and heard.  But I plan on spending about 400-450 on my equipment.

Anyway, you asked about the mic for 120 or less, Dizeazed posted his mic as $100 so there ya go

Actually I was planning on getting the SM58 myself but I was lookin at this bundle that comes with the X2u USB adapter.  The bundle is $200 I was just wondering if anyone has used the adapter or at least knows if it's worth the extra $100?

Supposedly it has a built in phantom power source if I ever get a condenser mic plus no latency etc.  Sounds worth it, but it's probably a matter of actually using it to find out.

bought behringer condensor mic for $120 on ebay, real good quality brand new, external sound card was $35 ,behringer pre amp was 120 also, mic stand and pop filter 20 each also on ebay, im using a prodikeys keyboard/keyboard for beats cost $75 on ebay.

All soft ware, synths vsts, vstis i got for free on http://www.piratebay.org , you can get fl studio in 2 days on frostwire.

Started out using mixcraft, is easy if ur just getting started unlimited free trial, but you wont be able to mix to mp3 unless you buy it or use a keygen.

Go to a charity store and buy some foam matresses they might smell a bit but will only set you back about $5 each air em out and dye em black and staple em up works wonders

Shure KSM27 about 200 bucks for a good condenser mic cheat.

I use an M-Audiophile USB interface 175 Bucks… might even get it cheaper. works like a charm. plug your monitors, headphones and mic into it…plug in the USB cord and then adjust your settings on whatever software you use…very nice quality.

If you're going to record Ide go with a Shure Mic…they've been making mics from day one… Im not sure if the KSM27 is still available though because of the 33(or 30 somthing) and KSM 44…KSM 44 runs for about 900bucks, but the KSM27 has very very little sound difference to the KSM44 and its 700 bucks cheaper…I think thats why they've discontinued it… go to musiciansfriend.com and search the Shure Mics…KSM27. might be able to get the M Audio Audiophile usb interface from there too…
