what did u record on and what did u use to mix ure vocals…..Izotope?….FL?…if so what settings did u use…HIT ME UP on here or myspace….

I use Pro Tools to mix and Isotope to 'master.' 

Well.. my best guess is that its a bad recording. You can only do so much with a bad recording.. what i would do is pad up a corner, make sure no 1 is going to be speaking in the background, turn your headphones down, turn the tv off, make sure it doesnt pick up the computer, then record. If you still have alot of unwanted background noises.. invest in something like soundproofing your closet and converting it into your booth, or if you have a garage or something like that see if you can invest in making it your own studio.. I know ppl that record in open rooms and to the 'untrained' ear, you would never know it but the background noises are still there. See if that helps you any.
