I finally a believer. The quailty of your sound card makes a difference in the quality of your beats.

I set up my boy home studio wiht all the shit I use. I made a beat and Mixed down and put the session on cd.

Then I mixed the same session down on my pc with stock computer sound card.

My boy studio is built for recording he got a booth and everything but he got a high quality sound card

The beat I mixed down at his spot blew mine away in quality.

Like wtf.

I'm using the same Delta 44 I've had for years and it's still going strong, might upgrade to ProTools + M-Box soon though, my sister got the small one and the quality is great.

sho that m audio pt version is trash get the real pt if ur gonna do upgrade with the hd cards and crap it's pricey but you'll get the highest available quality out of it.

ps i got the same delta sho has just i use the original drivers for it cause the pt update ones for the m audio pt sucks on this card but i dont use the mic options on the delta never have cause no phantom… <<< never could figure out why they didn't put it.

Yea I don't know much about Pro Tools, I saw versions for $1200 and $1600 or even more, my quality is pretty damn good as it is so it's hard to justify spending thousands when I'm not really doing any major mixing.

Would the M-Box 2/Pro Tools be an upgrade from the Delta 44? This is the one I'm talking about: http://www.zzounds.com/item–DGDMB2

Personally I use vegas for vocal recording cause m-audio pt is crap but if your gonna be mixing ur beats in pt you'll probably be ok with it. you won't have all the instrument feature's with like say the le pt version but you can prolly still get some kind of use out of all the plugin's and still use waves and such.

now here was the problem I have with basically the same set up you have now just lower end stuff lol… I put m audio version of pt on with the delta and i had to change drivers to match the pt version well in doing so it gives you a whole new driver that has none of the multi features included in the delta so kinda defeated the purpose of having the delta now i need a mixing board… second no more bass managment after update… which really sucks because if you have ever heard a delta with no sub it screams like a hi fi system lol… and third is that m-audio version of pt is limited to the plug in sets you can use it with so not really an expandable version of pro tools..

Dunno if that made sence or not but I tried to explain it lol^^^^^

I've never used m box before but i've used the behringer knock off version of it and if it's quality is even a smidge better than the behringer one it's probably worth it. Try like sam ash or something to see if they have a rig set up already and check it out before hand because I honestly feel like it may be a step back for u in quality

P>S> Vegas owns pt in all area's exept its own plugin's. I've taken courses on pt and still like vegas better just more user friendly compatable with any other program as a second or third and low mem consuption .
