I make the beat in FL Studio, so in FL I add Reverb, panning, and do any EQ'ing (I hardly ever EQ anything though).
Then I tranfer the .wav files of the beat over to Cool Edit Pro to mix the beat, once I'm done mixing the beat I run the final mix through Waves L2 to increase the overall thickness and sound of the beat without clipping, and that's pretty much it.
The VST's I use come with natural reverb and effects so I really don't have to do much to make the sounds sound good.
I heard that Beats By Dr. Dre head phone are horrible for studio recording cause they dont give like the real sound of the song/beat (they make it sound good or sum).
The Beats headphones are best used for listening to music. They are not proper studio/recording headphones. Your best bet is to get something by Shure or Sony. Expect to pay no less than $150 if you're serious about your music. Some people will pay as much as a couple thousand on recording/mixing/mastering headphones, but that sort of thing is mostly reserved for audio techs, movie-makers, etc.
