Yo Sho, i wondering if you could please type out your autotune settings and i notcied that your settings are suttle , like calm and sound good and clear. How did you smooth them out llike that (to the point where you can tell they're there but the over exagerated.) Also, how do you know what key to set auto-tune? And i been told that you should do voice overes with autotune vocals, true? And if i want to get a unique sound out of autotune what settings should i play with? (Aka if i want a my own settins, what should i play with) (Also, how can you tell what type of singer you are; alto, tenor etc.)
I adjust the “RETUNE” at the bottom left for how much of the AT effect I want to use, 0 being the strongest. I usually set it between 7-10 when I do hooks. And I set the voice to Soprano and the Scale to Major.
What key? Whatever key I play the beat in. So if I play the chord C-E-G…the Autotune will be in one of those keys.
I don't know about unique settings, I don't think you can really get a unique sound out of autotune, it's either gonna sound real robotic or more natural.
Thanks Sho, really apreciate it! But one more thing, i ment how can you tell the key of a beat. Like if i got a beat off some random site, how do i tell what key the beat was made in?
If you don't have a keyboard to find out what key the beat is in (by playing the keys), then you'll need to try every key in Autotune until it sounds right. If it's off key you'll know for sure.
